Planning for Evacuation

Do you have staff members with a disability?

Does your organisation have the appropriate structures to ensure that staff members can get out in an emergency? If not, then how do you get them out? What do you do?

Equal Access will provide your organisation with the appropriate structures and support your organisation in developing organisationally customised PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans).

Do you have visitors with a disability?

All visitors to your building/facility fall under your Duty of Care, meaning that if a person with a disability is visiting during an emergency evacuation, you have the responsibility to assist that individual out of harm’s way safely.

Equal Access assists organisations plan for these possible events and providing processes and strategies to manage these situations effectively.

How do you assist people with a disability in an emergency?

Not all people with a disability require assistance for everyday tasks. However, what happens when the usual route of access/egress is not available e.g. lifts? What assistance will be required? How do you provide that assistance in a dignified manner?

Equal Access provides realistic solutions to these complex issues and enables staff to provide such assistance when required.
